Upcoming Session: Sunday November 16th

Mishpacha is this coming Sunday!
Time: Both sessions 10:00AM-12:30PM. (Enjoy the later start time.)
Different Location: This week we will be meeting at the Bernard Milken Jewish Community Campus located at 22622 Vanowen St. in West Hills 91307. We will return to the synagogue for the end of the session.
Theme: We will conclude our 3-session series about Shabbat in another joint session, by focusing on the rituals of Erev Shabbat (Friday night) and the importance of actively preparing ourselves for Shabbat. Join us as we discover some important ways to get ourselves and our environment ready for the kedushah (holiness) of Shabbat.
Adults will explore issues related to simcha (joy) and the dangers our children face as they seek simcha in our world.
Upcoming session: Sunday, December 7 (Aleph at 9:00 am; Bet at 11:45 pm).

Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jessica came to Los Angeles when she began her studies at USC. She recently graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and is both a ceramicist and a graphic designer. Constantly finding interesting things to do here, Jessica decided to stay in LA while pursuing her artistic endeavors. Thanks for Another Inspiring Mitzvah Day

400 children will receive a duffle filled with comfort and hope this year, as a result of the efforts of the Or Ami community and beyond.
For 5 years now, we have answered the call of hundreds, if not thousands, of abused/neglected children who leave their homes with nothing to hold on to--literally and figuratively. Whether you helped in a small or large way, know that you touched a life. Maybe it was the sentiment you put on your pillowcase; maybe it was the stuffed animal you carefully chose; maybe it was the kind and handwritten thought that you shared on the card...maybe it was the night light or the journal or the toy that you donated…Were you the family who donated all 400 blankets or were you the one who purchased a few shampoos? Every effort is significant and so appreciated. Thank you.
